Questions and Answers with Founder of Foxcrete Construction Blake Henning
Lets Start Simple, Why Concrete?
Concrete picked me before I realized I could pick it back.
I grew up around it, it was the family trade. My grandfather and dad laid the groundwork figuratively and literally. The learning curve came easy, and the opportunity came early.
Also, I realized it’s the most used building material in the world? I knew there was room for me to build a career, build a company, and build wealth for my family by doing it better than average.
Favorite Gas Station Buy?
One thing about me, I’m going to stop at that gas station. Early morning, Bang Energy- Purple Haze, and if it’s a hard-hitting day, two egg rolls with sweet and sour to go.
What makes Foxcrete different from other contractors?
We treat your slab like it’s a legacy. Details matter: compaction, reinforcement, finishing technique, water-cement ratio.
We care about the stuff most people only Google after something cracks or fails.
Speaking of football.. You’re in Alabama. Favorite team?
One thing I have learned in business is to never talk football and politics on the clock! So on this one, I plead the fifth.
If you weren’t doing concrete, what would you be doing?
I’d trade my trowel for a briefcase and become a Family Law Attorney
What drives your to grow your company?
The bigger Foxcrete gets, the more opportunities we can give back to those in need and stand up for the people who need it most.
And let’s be honest… part of me also wants to build an empire; However, I don’t want to do it alone. I want to build an empire with the people beside me. The ones who show up in the heat, in the grind, and in the mud and still ask, When’s the next truck coming?
So yeah, changing lives, building futures, donating back into our towns, and creating a Legacy of Greatness.
You are a concrete company. Why do you hold a home builder’s license?
Holding the Unlimited Home-Builder License isn’t just paperwork. It’s a commitment to quality, transparency, and the protection of both our clients and our reputation.
It gives people hiring Foxcrete confidence they’re working with a builder who’s state-certified, regulated, and accountable, not just someone swinging a hammer or pouring concrete.
Also, the law requires that any project over $10,000 must be completed by a licensed Alabama Homebuilder. So, I appreciate being on the right side of the law too.. #26917

What does your reputation mean to you?
My reputation isn’t just business to me: It’s personal, permanent, and sacred ground I walk on every day.
The name Fox in “Foxcrete” comes from my nephew Fox Henning, who passed away in 2009. Placing “Fox” in my company name wasn’t a branding exercise: It was a promise.
Always do the right thing
Never cut corners, especially on character
Protect a legacy I refuse to let fade
Make sure his name is spoken with respect, not regret
I don’t want anything negative ever attached to that name, not because of business reviews, but because it’s family and he lives through this company.
His name in Foxcrete keeps him remembered, keeps him present, and keeps him relevant every single day in our lives.
So when people hear Foxcrete, I want them to associate it with:
Integrity
Pride
Care
Excellence
Fox isn’t just part of the brand, he’s part of our accountability.
A reputation worth growing. A name worth protecting. A legacy worth remembering.
